Casey's Getting Started with CloudCrowd Guide
Making money with CloudCrowd is possible as long as you take the time to familiarize yourself with the platform and the specifics of the program. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you get started.
- Click on the ‘My Details’ link on the left hand side of the CC Home screen. Fill in your information. Until you complete this, you won’t be able to get paid.
- Review the available credentials to determine what credentials you qualify for. To find the available credentials, click on the ‘Available Work’ tab on the CC interface. Once there, look for a tab that says ‘Credentials’ and click on it. When you get to the credential tests, the center column tells you what the requirements are for each credential. Many of the credentials don’t have any prerequisites, but some of the higher-level credential tests do have some. Once you see a credential you think you can qualify for, write down the name. DON’T TAKE THE TEST YET.
- Take some of the practice tests for your chosen credential. There is a tab that says ‘Practice’ right next to the ‘Credentials’ tab. Click on that tab to access the practice tests. Take some of these tests before you take the credential tests. You are limited to how many times you can take each credential test, so don’t rush into taking the tests.
- Show off your skills by taking a test. Review the test instructions thoroughly. For some tests, you aren’t allowed any mistakes, so you need to make sure you follow every instruction. If you aren’t comfortable with the test, you can click ‘Exit’ to leave the test or you can press ‘Skip’ if you want to get a new test. For example, if your topic for the General Writer test isn’t one you are comfortable writing, pressing ‘Skip’ will give you a new topic. Watch the timer at the bottom of the CC interface. If time expires, you can’t submit your test. No matter what test you are taking, proofread it at least twice before you turn it in. Submit your test when you have it completed. A popup will let you know it was submitted properly.
- Wait patiently for your test to be graded. The credentialing process is a multi-step process. After you submit your test, one of your peers will review the test. If the test meets all the requirements, your peer will send the test to a member of Admin for review. If the Admin agrees that your credential should be approved, you will get a notice saying it was approved. If the test doesn’t meet the requirements, you will get a notice that your credential was rejected. In some cases, it can take a while (days or even weeks) to get a credential test to be approved. Waiting can be a good thing since it takes longer to get an approval than a rejection (most of the time).
- Check the ‘Projects’ tab under the ‘Available Work’ tab to see if there is any work that you qualify to complete. Some projects don’t require a credential; however, some require that you meet a minimum credibility level. For the first 30 days you are with CC, you can only get up to 50 credibility points, but you start with less than 50. After the first 30 days, you can get up to 100 credibility points. To raise your credibility, you have to successfully complete tasks. Be careful when you do tasks that don’t have any requirements for credibility or credentials, as these have a lot of check tasks. A check task is a task that has a predetermined answer. If you fail it, your credibility drops to 25 and you are locked out of that project for 24 hours. If you fail a check task twice, you are locked out of the project permanently.
