Financial Content Style Guide
Your task is to write an answer to the financial question provided. The content must be helpful, easy to understand and provide advice and tips relevant to the category. The content must be based on facts and be original (no plagiarism or copy/paste from another content source).
Style and Tone
- Use concise and short sentences
- Write in a professional manner and informative tone. Avoid informal language
- Write in the third or second person. Never write in the first person
- Vary the starts of sentences and sentence structure while maintaining good grammar, spelling and readability, based on American English
- Do not use slang terms or “invented words”
- Do not use information that quickly becomes outdated, do not use dates
EXAMPLE: "ginormous"
EXAMPLE: “the standard tax deduction for 2007 is...”
Structure and Format
- Font Type and Size must be: Times New Roman 12pt
- Single Line spacing must be used. No double or 1.5 allowed
- Studies should be researched and facts should be used in your article, but do not list the date or time of the study.
- Paragraphs should be short (between 4-6 sentences)
- Break up your article into mini sections
- Utilize bulleted lists when applicable
- Do not quote individuals or companies
NOTE: Each section must have a section heading that is in bold font type (Must be at least two or more sections)
EXAMPLE: “Top five Things to Do,” “Seven Steps To...,” etc.
EXAMPLE: Francis Drake, VP of Marketing, says, “Our product has 20 million users.”
